Shane Smith has been working in the building industry since 1993. He completed his apprenticeship and proceeded to work for Wideform supervising up to 60 men on various projects. Shane worked for builders such as Lend Lease, Abi Group, John Holland, and Thiess to name a few. Shane also completed an Advanced Certificate in Building Supervision in 1996.

Shane moved on from Wideform to start his own business in 2006. With the success of this, Shane has also now branched out into Civil works. SMS Civil Constructions will be working throughout Australia on Wind farms, Solar Farms, Substations, Treatment Plants, Mining infrastructure, and Civil works.

A very hands-on business owner, Shane is involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the company from liaising with prospective builders, estimating and pricing projects to on-site works. With his “Believe to Achieve” attitude Shane is a very motivated business owner with huge dreams to have the SMS brand being the first choice in the minds of major contractors in the Civil Construction Industry.

Shane is a happily married man with 2 daughters and 1 son. Enjoying his family and keeping fit are also priorities’ for Shane.
